Suhar – North Batinah officially launched its 2026 Summer Centres programme under the theme ‘Our Summer: Leadership and Creativity’on Sunday, offering a wide range of educational, cultural and recreational activities aimed at enriching students’ summer holidays.

The initiative reflects the governorate’s commitment to making productive use of the school break by conducting activities that combine learning, entertainment and personal development. Through carefully designed activities, the centres seek to nurture young people’s talents, strengthen their practical skills and encourage innovation and creativity in a supportive environment.

This year’s programme includes workshops, sports activities, arts and crafts sessions, scientific experiments, leadership training, entrepreneurship initiatives and volunteer opportunities. According to the organisers, the diverse schedule has been designed to cater to different age groups and interests while promoting teamwork, responsibility and self-confidence among participants.

Officials involved in the launch stressed that the summer centres play an important role in developing the abilities of children and young people beyond the classroom. By engaging students in meaningful experiences, the programme aims to prepare them for future challenges and inspire them to become active contributors to their communities.

The programme also seeks to strengthen cooperation between educational institutions, government bodies and local organisations in creating safe and stimulating spaces where students can discover and refine their talents.

Parents have welcomed the programme, noting that structured summer activities help keep children engaged in constructive pursuits while reducing excessive screen time and encouraging social interaction.

Running throughout the summer vacation, the centres are expected to attract large numbers of students from across North Batinah. The governorate hopes the programme will foster a culture of lifelong learning, creativity and leadership, while providing participants with memorable experiences that contribute to their personal and academic growth.
