Muscat – Motorists in Oman are set to gain faster and more convenient access to vehicle inspection services with the launch of the first technical inspection centre on Tuesday, marking the beginning of a private sector initiative designed to enhance service delivery while supporting national road safety objectives.
The new facility, located at the Oman Automobile Association premises, is the first vehicle technical inspection station to operate under the Tajdeed brand after receiving approval from the Royal Oman Police. The initiative is intended to broaden the availability of inspection services by involving the private sector and offering customers greater accessibility and flexibility.
Al Maha Technical Inspection, established through a strategic partnership between Al Maha Petroleum Products Marketing and the Royal Oman Police, aims to deliver advanced vehicle inspection services in line with the highest standards of quality, efficiency and safety, according to a statement.

The company seeks to contribute to safer roads while improving the overall customer experience.
Eng Hamed bin Salim Al Maghdari, CEO of Al Maha Petroleum, said the launch of the Tajdeed brand reflects a commitment to modernising vehicle inspection services and providing motorists with a reliable and seamless inspection process that keeps pace with developments in the transport sector.

He noted that the new centre represents the company’s first project in the field and will operate according to recognised technical standards and best practices to strengthen the efficiency of the inspection system and support national efforts to improve road safety.
Al Maha Technical Inspection plans to expand its footprint by opening additional vehicle inspection centres across the sultanate. The expansion is expected to make technical inspection services more accessible to motorists and extend the benefits of the initiative to communities throughout Oman.
