Muscat – Oman Inclusion Conference 2025 brought together 39 schools and over 200 educators and medical professionals to discuss strategies for fostering inclusive education.
Held over two days – February 1 and 2 – at The Sultan’s School, the event was a collaboration between Inspire Educational Consultancy, Al Jisr Foundation and Ministry of Education.
The conference aimed to promote inclusive practices, share experiences and examine case studies that support students’ holistic development. It featured interactive discussions on the current state of education in Oman and strategies to overcome challenges. On the first day, 160 teachers participated, while the second day saw 90 specialists, including health professionals and ministry officials, contributing their expertise.
Daniel Sobel, an internationally recognised expert on inclusive education, led several sessions, sharing global best practices that were well-received by attendees.
Highlighting the significance of the event, Nadia Sultan, founder of Inspire Educational Consultancy, said, “It’s not just a gathering but a moment for reflection and action.”
With a team of four experts at Inspire, Nadia is working to create local opportunities for educators and make best practices accessible to teachers in Oman. “When we include all students in education and teach empathy and respect beyond school walls; we empower them to overcome challenges and shape a better future.”
Nigel Fossey, Principal of The Sultan’s School, underscored the importance of inclusive education. “We believe every child can succeed, regardless of their differences or background. Teachers need to understand and adapt best practices while considering students’ emotional and physical challenges. The conference reinforced the commitment of educational institutions and authorities to fostering inclusive education, ensuring no child is left behind.”

Mohammad Bassim, a teacher from Smart Student School in Mabelah, described the conference as an enriching experience. “It was a very fruitful event where ideas from various schools were exchanged. Ministry of Education’s active involvement made the discussions even more impactful.”
Dina al Khalili, General Manager of Al Jisr Foundation, also attended the conference and actively supported it.
The conference reflected a collective effort to strengthen inclusive education in Oman, encouraging collaboration among educators, health professionals and policymakers to create a more supportive learning environment for all students.
