Muscat – The State Council discussed several studies on Monday, the most significant of these being two titled ‘Empowering Omani Teachers’ and ‘Legislative Frameworks on Mandatory Education in Oman’.
Other studies discussed included ‘Developing Small and Medium Enterprises: Challenges, Opportunities and Suggestions’ and ‘Tech Startups: Their Status and Investment Milieu’.
Council’s members discussed the challenges faced by teachers and the tasks they undertake. They lauded the crucial role played by teachers in the education system in Oman.
Sheikh Abdulmalik Abdullah al Khalili, chairman of State Council, informed that Oman Vision 2040 – the long-term strategic development plan – focuses on Oman’s status and its prosperity, as well as the Omani people’s welfare while taking into consideration the country’s economic and human resources.
“These will be realised through the constructive and legislative decisions taken by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to press ahead with the nation building process amid international, environmental, health and security developments taking place worldwide.’
Khalili also highlighted the role of the State Council and its contribution to the Renewed Renaissance through recommendations, studies and legislative proposals which further support the realisation of Oman Vision 2040 goals.
