Muscat – Muscat Municipality has released the operational schedule for its slaughterhouses in preparation for the upcoming Eid Al Fitr period. To manage the anticipated increase in demand, the municipality has established specific timeframes for various categories of livestock and customers, ensuring a streamlined process for both residents and commercial entities. From March 15 to 18, the facilities will be open for individuals from 7:00 am until 2:00 pm, while companies and meat shops will be accommodated during an evening shift from 7:00 pm until midnight.

As the holiday approaches, the schedule will adjust to cater specifically to individual needs. On Thursday, March 19 and through the first and second days of Eid Al Fitr, slaughtering for sheep and goats will take place between 7:00 am and 2:00 pm. On Friday, March 20, an additional morning session is scheduled from 7:00 am to 10:00 am, followed by an afternoon session from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Those requiring services for cows and camels are advised that operations for these larger animals are restricted to a late afternoon window between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm.

The third day of the Eid holidays and beyond, the municipality has confirmed shifted hours for its primary locations. The Seeb slaughterhouse will operate from 6:00 am until 4:00 pm, whereas the Amerat facility will remain open from 6:00 am until 10:00 pm. Officials have reminded companies and charitable organisations wishing to utilise these services to coordinate in advance with the operating companies to ensure efficient service delivery during this busy period.
