Muscat – The Ministry of Information has started transmission of Al Shabab (youth) programmes from a new radio station in the wilayat of Duqm in Al Wusta governorate. The radio service operates on the frequency of 103.5 MHz with a capacity of 1kW.

The number of radio stations in Oman now stands at 136, distributed as follows: 16 stations in Muscat governorate, 28 in North and South Batinah, 22 in North and South Sharqiyah, 20 in Dhofar, 15 in Dakhiliyah, 13 in Musandam, 12 in Dhahirah, six in Al Wusta and four in Buraimi,
