14 Oct 2026 Oman to host 28 cultural events at Sharjah International Book Fair By OUR CORRESPONDENT

UAE – Oman, represented by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, participated in a press conference at the Sharjah Book Authority headquarters to announce details of the 45th Sharjah International Book Fair and the 16th Publishers Conference.

Ahmed bin Saud Al Rawahi, Assistant Director General for Knowledge and Cultural Development, delivered Oman’s speech as the Guest of Honour for this year’s edition. He emphasised that Oman’s selection reflects the deep-rooted historical ties, brotherhood, and shared values between Oman and the United Arab Emirates.

Oman’s participation will serve as a platform to highlight its history, cultural achievements, and heritage through a designated national pavilion and stalls for Omani publishing houses.

The Omani cultural programme features 28 events, including seminars, literary discussions, poetry evenings, workshops for children, and performances by traditional folk art and musical groups.

The official pavilion design draws inspiration from Oman’s maritime history and renewed renaissance. Scheduled from November 4 to 15, 2026, the fair will host six government entities, four civil society institutions, and 17 Omani publishing houses and libraries.
