Muscat – A customs facilitation initiative introduced through the Oman–Dubai Green Corridor is strengthening regional trade by enabling faster movement of cargo between the UAE and Oman. The initiative has enhanced Oman’s position as a regional transit and re-export hub while providing businesses with a reliable and efficient logistics solution for international trade.
Supported by the close cooperation between Dubai Customs and Oman Customs, the Green Corridor simplifies customs procedures, reduces border delays, and enables the smooth movement of cargo through designated border crossings. The initiative is particularly beneficial for food products, which require faster clearance to maintain quality and support food security, as well as for general cargo moving across regional and international markets.
Specialized customs clearance companies such as Infinity Transit Freight LLC have played an important role in facilitating the Green Corridor by providing expert customs documentation, clearance, and logistics support for importers, exporters, and freight forwarders.
Under the Green Corridor arrangement, goods and containers originally destined for Jebel Ali Port can be rerouted by road through the Hatta–Al Wajajah border into Oman for transshipment via Sohar Port, Salalah Port, and Duqm Port to international destinations. Likewise, cargo arriving at Omani ports can be be transported efficiently into Dubai and the UAE market. The initiative also includes a bonded road feeder service connecting airports in Dubai and Oman, allowing air cargo to move quickly between both countries under fast-track customs procedures.
Established in Dubai in 2016, Infinity Transit Freight LLC expanded its operations into Oman in 2019 . Since then, the company has developed extensive expertise in customs documentation and clearance under both Dubai Customs and Oman Customs, ensuring seamless cargo movement through the Hatta and Al Wajajah border crossings.
One of the key advantages of the Green Corridor is the coordinated customs documentation process. Instead of preparing separate and time-consuming documentation for each country, businesses benefit from a streamlined system that enables customs formalities to be processed more efficiently by both Dubai Customs and Oman Customs, significantly reducing delays and improving supply chain performance.
Infinity Transit Freight LLC currently manages customs clearance for approximately 60 trucks crossing the UAE–Oman border every day, in addition to around 15 trucks transporting cargo from Dubai to Sohar Port and other destinations. A dedicated team of logistics and customs specialists works around the clock to ensure uninterrupted operations and timely delivery of shipments.
Speaking about the initiative, Shaiju Chathencheri, Founder & CEO of Infinity Transit Freight LLC, said:
“The Oman–Dubai Green Corridor has transformed cross-border logistics by simplifying customs procedures and reducing clearance times. It enables businesses to reroute shipments quickly through Oman for international transshipment while maintaining full customs compliance. This has greatly improved the efficiency of regional supply chains.”
He added:
“Our expertise lies in handling customs documentation under both Dubai Customs and Oman Customs. A documentation process that traditionally takes several days can often be completed within a single day through our experienced team, helping customers save valuable time and reduce operational costs.”
Mr. Shaiju Chathencheri noted that Infinity Transit Freight LLC has built strong expertise in handling transshipment cargo through Sohar Port, Salalah Port, and Duqm Port, providing customers with flexible routing options whenever shipping schedules or operational requirements change. The company also supports seamless rerouting of cargo between the UAE and Oman, ensuring uninterrupted movement of imports and exports.
He further praised the cooperation between the customs authorities of both countries.
“We sincerely appreciate the outstanding cooperation and vision of Dubai Customs and Oman Customs in implementing the Green Corridor. Their commitment to trade facilitation has simplified customs procedures, strengthened regional connectivity, reduced border delays, and created significant value for the logistics industry.”
The customs process begins with inspection, scanning, and sealing of cargo by Dubai Customs before departure. At the Hatta border, customs officials verify the cargo seals and documentation before permitting entry into Oman. Upon arrival at the Al Wajajah border crossing, Oman Customs completes the required transit formalities, allowing cargo to proceed efficiently to Sohar Port, Salalah Port, Duqm Port, or Omani airports for onward export. The same efficient process applies to cargo moving from Oman into Dubai, ensuring smooth two-way trade between both countries.
In recognition of his contribution to the customs clearance and logistics sector, Shaiju Chathencheri was honored by Dubai Customs in 2022 for outstanding performance in customs clearance, reflecting his commitment to operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and customer-focused logistics solutions.
Looking ahead, Infinity Transit Freight LLC plans to further expand its presence in Oman by developing integrated logistics solutions, including freight forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing, cross-stuffing, cargo consolidation, and value-added logistics services, particularly around Duqm Port and Salalah Port. These strategic investments are expected to strengthen the company’s role in supporting regional and international supply chains.
Mr. Shaiju Chathencheri believes Oman is well positioned to become one of the Middle East’s leading logistics hubs. With world-class ports, strategic connectivity to global shipping routes, government support, and initiatives such as the Oman–Dubai Green Corridor, the Sultanate is expected to attract increased international trade, investment, and transshipment activities in the years ahead.
As regional trade continues to grow, the Oman–Dubai Green Corridor is expected to play an increasingly important role in strengthening supply chains, supporting food security, and positioning both Oman and the UAE as leading logistics gateways connecting regional and global markets. Through its expertise in customs documentation and cross-border logistics, Infinity Transit Freight LLC remains committed to facilitating faster, smarter, and more efficient trade across the region.
