Muscat – DADS (Dance Academy by Delicious Sahadevan), in association with The Champ Sports & Arts, represented not only their team but also the aspirations of Indian hip-hop dancers seeking to compete at the highest levels on the global stage.

The team’s journey to the international arena began at the Indian Hip Hop Dance Championship on January 11, 2026, where Team D.A.D.S secured first place 🥇 in the MegaCrew category, competing against 21 teams from across India.

Following their national victory, the team travelled to Phoenix, Arizona, in July 2026 to represent India at the World Hip Hop Dance Championship, one of the major international competitions bringing together hip-hop dance crews from around the world. The championship featured 32 crews from different countries.

Competing in the highly competitive MegaCrew category, Team D.A.D.S successfully progressed through the rounds and reached the semifinal stage, finishing among the Top 16 teams in the world. The achievement marked a historic milestone, with Team D.A.D.S becoming the first Indian team in the history of the World Hip Hop Dance Championship to reach the Top 16 in the MegaCrew category.

Team D.A.D.S was led by its founder and principal choreographer, Delicious Sahadevan. The choreography team comprised Harshal, Nixon, Ajay, Rahul, Nagesh, Sumit and Salim.

The performers who represented India were Aanviya, Abhinanda, Ajay, Akshitha, Aliyah, Anaida, Eva, Gowri, Jaza, Johanna, Madhav, Neeraja, Niranjana, Nelvin, Nixon, Sumit, Shreddha and Tania.

The team’s costumes were designed by Arpita and Juliana, adding to its visual presentation and identity on the international stage.

Behind the achievement were months of intensive preparation, teamwork, discipline and dedication. The journey from winning the national championship to competing among the world’s leading crews reflects the commitment of the dancers and their choreographers to pushing the boundaries of Indian hip-hop dance.

Team D.A.D.S has emerged as an inspiration for dance crews across India and Oman, demonstrating how dedication, training and teamwork can create opportunities to compete on international platforms.

The academy continues to train dancers and create opportunities for performers to participate in competitions and showcase their talent at both national and international levels.
