Suhar – North Batinah Governorate on Monday launched its new promotional identity and Strategic Plan 2026-2030 during a ceremony held in Suhar under the patronage of H E Sayyid Ibrahim bin Saeed al Busaidi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism. The event was attended by senior officials, representatives of private sector institutions and members of civil society.
In his address, Mohammed bin Sulaiman al Kindi, Governor of North Batinah, said the governorate continues to strengthen its position as one of Oman’s leading economic centres, supported by its strategic location, ports, industrial and logistics zones, expanding economy, investment activity, and rich agricultural and marine resources.
He said these strengths have enabled North Batinah to make a significant contribution to the national economy and gross domestic product.

Al Kindi noted that, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, the governorate had developed its Strategic Plan 2026-2030 using a participatory and evidence-based approach.
“The plan is based on analysing the current situation, identifying future opportunities and setting clear priorities to enhance institutional performance, improve service quality and achieve sustainable development that strengthens the governorate’s competitiveness and attractiveness for investment,” he said.
The ceremony featured the screening of a documentary titled North Batinah, highlighting the governorate’s historical role as a gateway between East and West, its cultural and religious heritage, and its rapid economic transformation. The film also showcased Suhar’s position as an industrial and economic hub and highlighted investment opportunities across the governorate’s wilayats.
The governorate also unveiled its new promotional identity through a visual presentation. Eng Mohammed bin Qassim al Shezawi, Head of the Investment Development Department at the Department of Planning and Investment and official spokesperson for North Batinah Governorate, explained the rationale behind the new identity and outlined its philosophy and objectives.

The promotional identity is built around the vision of positioning North Batinah as “a leading destination for economy, development and sustainable quality of life.”
The event also included a presentation on the governorate’s Strategic Plan 2026-2030 by Eng Manal bint Sulaiman al Ajmia, Head of the Planning and Statistics Section at the Department of Planning and Investment.
The strategy envisions North Batinah becoming “the destination of economy and development for sustainable quality of life” by leading the transition towards a sustainable and competitive economy. It aims to achieve this through the delivery of high-quality smart services, strengthening the investment environment, fostering partnerships and developing national capabilities to support comprehensive development and improve quality of life.

With the launch of its promotional identity and five-year strategy, North Batinah Governorate said it is entering a new phase of development based on a clear vision, defined priorities and stronger partnerships, supporting the goals of Oman Vision 2040 while responding to the aspirations of the local community for sustainable economic growth and an enhanced quality of life.
