Duqm – One of the world’s largest RoRo vessels, the BYD Changsha, is set to arrive at the Port of Duqm, marking a significant milestone for Oman’s automotive and logistics sector. This event represents the first BYD vessel arrival at the port.

The vessel boasts a total capacity of 9,200 vehicles and a vessel length of 219.9 metres. Out of the total cargo, more than 1,200 vehicles are planned for handling at the Port of Duqm, which includes over 200 vehicles designated for the Omani market and more than 1,000 vehicles destined for wider GCC markets.

Carried out in collaboration with the Saud Bahwan Group, this arrival highlights the port’s rapidly growing capabilities in handling complex automotive shipments. The initiative successfully connects global automotive supply chains directly with Oman and the wider regional markets.
