Salalah – Her Highness the Honourable Lady Assayida Ahd Abdullah Hamed Al Busaidi, Spouse of His Majesty the Sultan, on Wednesday visited the Omani Women’s Association in Salalah, reaffirming her support for the role of Omani women in the country’s development and community service.
Her Highness was received by His Highness Sayyid Marwan Turki Al Said, Governor of Dhofar; Dr Laila Ahmed Al Najjar, Minister of Social Development; Noor Hassan Al Ghassani, Chairperson of the Omani Women’s Association in Salalah; and chairpersons of Omani Women’s Associations across Dhofar Governorate.
During her tour, Her Highness viewed a gathering of Omani women’s associations from across Dhofar, including the Heritage House, which showcased traditional crafts and handicrafts reflecting the governorate’s rich cultural heritage. The displays also highlighted efforts to preserve and develop traditional crafts and transform them into products with economic and social value.
Her Highness also visited the exhibition hall, where Omani Women’s Associations from Dhofar presented their initiatives, voluntary work, community achievements and women-led projects.
The association chairpersons briefed Her Highness on their ideas and experiences, highlighting initiatives that demonstrate the spirit of community participation, social responsibility and innovation among women in the governorate.
At the conclusion of the visit, Her Highness signed a commemorative entry expressing her appreciation for the associations’ efforts. She praised the diversity of their programmes and projects, their focus on preserving heritage, and their contribution to supporting women and serving the wider community.
