Muscat – Royal Oman Police (ROP) has issued a formal clarification regarding the regulations for vehicle window tinting within the Sultanate. According to the latest guidelines, motorists are permitted to apply tinting to their vehicle windows, excluding the front windscreen, provided that the level of tint does not exceed 50%.
The authority has emphasised that tinting the front windscreen remains strictly prohibited. Furthermore, vehicles featuring factory-tinted side windows are permitted to be licensed, on the condition that the light transmittance is not less than 30%.
Additionally, the use of matte stickers or paint is allowed, provided they do not produce a reflective sheen. These measures are part of the ongoing efforts by the Royal Oman Police to provide clear information and support the convenience of the public.
