Suhar – North Batinah governorate is set to celebrate its thriving agricultural sector with the launch of Mango Festival 2026, scheduled to take place from June 23 to 25 at Suhar Bazaar.

Organised by the Office of the Wali of Suhar in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, the festival aims to showcase the governorate’s agricultural diversity while supporting local farmers and promoting Omani produce.

Held under the patronage of Mohammed bin Sulaiman Al Kindi, Governor of North Batinah, the three-day event will bring together farmers, agricultural enterprises and productive families from across the governorate. The festival will provide an opportunity for exhibitors to display and market a wide range of agricultural products, with mangoes taking centre stage as one of the region’s most important seasonal crops.

Organisers said the event seeks to strengthen the marketing of local produce, create direct links between farmers and consumers, and enhance public awareness of the importance of agriculture in supporting food security and sustainable development.

In addition to showcasing different varieties of mangoes, exhibitors will present other locally grown fruits and agricultural products, including grapes, figs and value-added food items. The festival will also feature awareness programmes and activities highlighting modern farming techniques, sustainable agricultural practices and opportunities for investment in the sector.

Agricultural festivals have increasingly become an effective platform for stimulating local economies by attracting visitors, generating commercial activity and providing farmers with wider market access. The event is expected to draw large numbers of visitors from across Oman, contributing to tourism and business activity in Suhar during the festival period.

North Batinah has witnessed steady growth in fruit cultivation in recent years, with mango production emerging as an important contributor to the governorate’s agricultural output. Officials believe the festival will further enhance the profile of local farmers and encourage greater consumer appreciation of high-quality Omani produce.

The festival will be open to the public daily from 9am to 1pm and from 5pm to 10pm, offering visitors the chance to explore the region’s agricultural heritage and enjoy a variety of products and activities in a family-friendly environment.
