Dhahirah – Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) has successfully closed a commercial establishment found to be trading in illicit goods, following an extensive investigation by judicial officers. During targeted field inspections, authorities discovered that the establishment had been actively storing and distributing more than 400 counterfeit products, which were falsely marketed to local retail outlets as genuine items.
The seized inventory included various personal care goods, such as toothpastes and shampoos, all of which illicitly bore well-known trademarks. Following the confiscation of these items, the Authority initiated formal legal proceedings against the establishment for violating the Consumer Protection Law and its associated executive regulations.
