Muscat – Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority’s (CDAA) operations centre recently received an urgent report regarding a 15 year old girl who was suffering from an airway obstruction while eating. Upon receiving the call, specialists at the centre immediately established contact with the family to provide critical guidance.

They directed the family through the necessary emergency procedures while offering calm support to ensure the instructions were followed accurately. The family’s swift action and adherence to the instructions led to the successful restoration of the teenager’s breathing.

The Authority has since highlighted the vital importance of learning basic first aid, as such knowledge plays a crucial role in preserving lives during emergencies while awaiting the arrival of professional rescue teams.
