Muscat – Nama Water Services (NWS) will launch the second edition of Oman Water Week on Sunday, bringing together industry leaders, experts and government representatives to highlight the sultanate’s latest developments in water infrastructure and sustainability.
The event includes field visits to some of Oman’s most prominent water projects, offering participants a first-hand look at ongoing efforts to address growing demand and environmental challenges.
An exhibition will open on Monday at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center, under the patronage of H H Sayyid Dr Fahad bin al Julanda al Said, Vice-Chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University.
More than 2,500 participants are expected to attend, including over 100 regional and international speakers. The exhibition will feature more than 60 companies from over 25 countries, making it one of the region’s largest gatherings focused on the water sector.
Specialised seminars and workshops will be held throughout the week, highlighting successful case studies and encouraging knowledge exchange among the stakeholders from Oman and abroad.
Qais bin Saud al Zakwani, CEO of Nama Water Services, said the event, organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources and the Authority for Public Services Regulation, provides “a crucial platform to discuss the latest in water sustainability, innovation and technology”.
He added that the field visits will demonstrate Oman’s work in developing sustainable water solutions, aligned with the country’s economic growth and environmental goals outlined in Oman Vision 2040.
“Dedicating a full week to the water sector reflects its significance and the urgent need for continuous efforts to ensure water security, a global concern,” Zakwani said.
The opening of the exhibition will be attended by officials from Oman and GCC countries, as well as international organisations focused on water management and sustainability.
