Muscat – Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs announced that a partial lunar eclipse will occur globally on Friday, August 28. Certain phases of the eclipse will be visible across Europe, western Asia, Africa, North America, South America, the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, the Indian Ocean, and Antarctica.

In Oman, the event will be witnessed specifically as a penumbral lunar eclipse. It will begin at 05:23 AM according to the local time and will end at 05:43 AM along with moonset. Observing any noticeable change with the naked eye will be difficult due to the faint effect of the penumbra, its blending with the dawn light, and the close proximity of the Moon to the horizon.
