Muscat – Foreign Ministry launched a new e-services platform and mobile application to integrate advanced technology into its diplomatic and consular operations on Wednesday.

This aims to improve access to consular services, enable real-time communication and facilitate seamless interaction between citizens, residents, visitors and Omani embassies worldwide.

H E Khalid al Muslahi, Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs in Foreign Minis-try, who presided over the launch event, said the platform reflects the ministry’s commitment to innovation, modernisation and leveraging technology to enhance government performance.

The digital platform is part of the government’s efforts to provide citizens, residents and diplomatic missions with efficient access to consular and diplomatic services. It is designed to accelerate procedures, streamline operations, and strengthen communication between Omani embassies and the public globally.

H E Muslahi stated that the new facilities align with Oman Vision 2040, focusing on operational efficiency, reducing paper-based processes and enhancing digital engagement. “It integrates cutting-edge cybersecurity measures and connects with other government systems to ensure accurate, swift and secure transactions,” he said.

The platform offers a unified digital environment for government institutions and diplomatic missions to manage transactions electronically. It includes an integrated electronic payment system and multiple service access options. The mobile application enhances user engagement by enabling instant communication with Omani embassies, electronic registration of traveller data, and access to consular and security updates, ensuring prompt responses to developments.
