Beirut, Lebanon – Multiple blasts have been reported in different parts of Lebanon, killing at least three people according to state media, a day after simultaneous explosions of pagers used by Hezbollah’s members killed 12 people and wounded thousands.
Reuters, quoting a security source and a witness, reported, ‘The communications devices that exploded today in Lebanon are portable radios and are different from the pagers that exploded yesterday.’
Volker Türk, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, said, “We call for calm after the pager explosions in Lebanon. These attacks violate international human rights law and possibly international humanitarian law as well. We call for an independent investigation into the circumstances of these explosions.”
