Nepal Embassy in Muscat introduces digital attestation for recruitment

7 Jul 2024 Nepal Embassy introduces digital attestation for recruitment

Muscat – In a move towards digital transformation, the Embassy of Nepal in Muscat has launched an e-portal for ‘Institutional Demand Attestation’.

H E Dornath Aryal, Ambassador of Nepal to Oman,  has announced that starting July 16, 2024, all attestation processes will be conducted online, eliminating the need for manual presentation. Recruiters in Oman, after selecting from among 1,400 Nepali recruiting agencies, will now complete all documentation via the website.

The announcement at Nepal House on Wednesday was marked by an employment, trade and investment promotion and providing detailed information about the e-portal for sponsors in Oman who are interested in recruiting Nepali workers.

It also sought to explore trade and investment opportunities between Nepal and Oman.

Speaking at the event, H E Aryal said, “The Nepalese government’s priorities are to diversify trading partners and promote foreign investment opportunities in Nepal. We aim to make Nepal an attractive destination for international business. The successful completion of Nepal Investment Summit 2024 has set the stage for greater economic cooperation.”

Introducing the e-portal, H E Aryal said, “The new system ensures a transparent and hassle-free process. By moving these procedures online, we are making it easier and more efficient for recruiters to engage with Nepali workers.”

He expressed optimism that the digital shift would foster stronger, long-term relations between the embassy and recruiters in Oman. “This transition marks a significant step towards modernising our processes and enhancing our services. It will also save the menace and financial burden that arise due to middle men. We believe this initiative will not only ease the recruitment process but also strengthen economic ties between Nepal and Oman,” he added.

A virtual presentation on the e-portal –  https://demand.nepal consular.gov.np – was made at the announcement.

Bishesh Kumar Sah, Second Secretary at the embassy, said, “This e-portal will revolutionise how we handle recruitment, making it more efficient and accessible. Company registration for recruiters in Oman began on July 3, 2024. From July 16, 2024, all institutional demands must be processed through the e-portal; physical demand letters will no longer be accepted. This change is a necessary step towards efficiency and transparency.”
