Muscat – The Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs (MERA), through its Department of Women’s Education and Guidance, inaugurated the ‘Nusuk’ exhibition along with the activities of the ‘Little Haj’ for its tenth annual edition on Tuesday.
The event, hosted at the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, serves as a preparatory platform for over 14,000 pilgrims expected to embark on the haj to Mecca this year.
The exhibition, spanning five days and split into morning and evening sessions, is strategically designed to augment pilgrims’ understanding and execution of haj rituals.
“Nusuk aims to simplify the haj rituals for pilgrims and enhance the quality of services to enrich both their religious and cultural experiences,” a spokesperson for MERA stated. The initiative underscores a commitment to comprehensive educational outreach, involving various interactive and visual sessions.
Central to the exhibition are six distinct sections focusing on haj rituals, religious edicts (fatwa), health, social responsibilities, the Omani Haj mission, and special provisions for non-Arabic speaking attendees.
These sections provide crucial insights and guidelines, from safety measures and disease prevention tactics to a deeper spiritual understanding of the pilgrimage.
“The exhibition is not just about learning the rituals but also about preparing the pilgrims psychologically and spiritually for the journey ahead,” explained the spokesperson.
This holistic approach aims to ensure that every pilgrim is well-informed, safe, and spiritually ready for the transformative experience of haj.
