Programme focuses on honing HR competencies of public sector

The Ministry of Civil Service opened the fourth round of courses of its training programme known as ‘government competencies’, on Sunday.

 

It is being conducted by the ministry, in cooperation with the Institute of Public Administration (IPA), with the support of Ministry of Oil & Gas.

 

The opening ceremony was attended by H E Sayyid Salim bin Musallam al Busaidi, Undersecretary for Administrative Development Affairs in the Ministry of Civil Service, Sayyid Zaki bin Hilal al Busaidi, executive chairman of the IPA, and other officials.

 

As many as 30 participants comprising directors and officials in the state’s administrative apparatus are taking part in the programme, which comes within the government’s plan to develop human resources – a top priority in administrative planning.

 

The programme is being carried out 12 days a month from February to April. The programme seeks to develop national cadres capable of tackling future challenges and utilising available opportunities.

 

It also seeks to help participants gain skills necessary for achieving best performance and productivity.
