School students asked to submit electricity bill details

5 Nov 2019

The Ministry of Education (MoE) has made it mandatory for all school students across Oman to submit the electricity account number of their residences.

Parents have been advised to upload the details through an online form provided by the school.

Indian School Muscat (ISM) too issued a circular in this regard and provided a link wherein parents have been asked to upload along with other details the electricity account number of residences of students from classes KG to XII. The form has to be filled on or before November 6, the ISM circular read.

The initiative is part of the E-Census 2020 campaign. As part of the campaign titled, ‘Your Data, Your Identity’, the ROP had earlier urged, both citizens and residents to update personal data in the civil register system at the nearest civil status building. The details also include electricity number.

On May 6, 2015, the Royal Decree 15/2015 ordered for an electronic census for population, housings and establishments for the year 2020, through a system that integrated all statistical data.

The system will be responsible for providing indicators and statistical reports in accordance with international standards that will serve the sultanate’s development objectives. This is the fourth census to be implemented since the Blessed Renaissance.
