Muscat – The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, has issued a public health advisory for Omani pilgrims preparing for Hajj . Pilgrims are urged to comply with the latest health requirements and guidelines issued by the Saudi Ministry of Health to ensure their safety during the pilgrimage.

The ministry emphasised that adherence to these conditions is crucial for protecting pilgrims’ health and ensuring the safe and smooth performance of rituals.

Key health requirements are as outlined below:

1. Medical Fitness: Pilgrims must be in good health and free from any infectious or serious chronic illnesses.
2. Mandatory Vaccinations: Pilgrims are required to receive the following vaccines at least 10 days prior to travel: Meningococcal vaccine (MenACWY) , seasonal influenza vaccine & COVID vaccine.
3. Valid Health Certificates: Vaccinations must be documented with official certificates issued by accredited health authorities.
4. Age Limit: Only individuals under 65 years of age are eligible to perform Hajj this year.
5. Readiness to Comply with Saudi Health Directives: Pilgrims must be prepared to follow any updated instructions or health measures issued by Saudi authorities before or during Hajj.

The Ministry of Awqaf affirmed that all Omani pilgrims must fully comply with these requirements, highlighting that the health and safety of pilgrims remain a top priority.
