UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has condemned the attacks in Pakistan’s Balochistan province on August 26, 2024, describing them as unacceptable acts of violence against civilians. His spokesperson, Stéphane Dujarric, relayed Guterres’ message, emphasising the need for accountability.
Guterres expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the victims and urged the Pakistani government to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
The attacks in Balochistan resulted in the deaths of at least 60 people, including security personnel, and left many others injured, according to Pakistani security officials.
