Muscat – Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion (MoCIIP) has officially announced a temporary suspension of all applications to establish new stations for the filling and selling of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders, commonly known as cooking gas.

This decision applies across all governorates within the Sultanate as the authorities review current market needs and regulatory frameworks. The Ministry clarified that future investment opportunities in this sector will be reintroduced as required, ensuring that all new projects align with updated regulations and procedural controls. This move is intended to maintain high standards and effective management of gas distribution services throughout the country in accordance with applicable laws.
