Salalah – Dhofar is home to 360 permanent and seasonal springs scattered across the governorate, from the wilayat of Shalim and the Hallaniyat Islands in the east to the wilayat of Dhalkut in the west, and those in the desert.

Among the must-visit is Ain Razat, especially during khareef season, offering a serene and scenic experience for all visitors.

Dhofar Municipality has made significant efforts to develop Ain Razat for tourists. The area surrounding the spring has been beautified with a public garden filled with shade trees, green landscaping and flowers. This development has transformed Ain Razat into a popular destination for visitors, travel enthusiasts, school students and photographers.

The spring is in the northeastern part of the governorate, about 15km from Salalah city. It boasts a unique location next to Razat Cave and is surrounded by towering mountains. The clear water flowing from the spring creates a picturesque wadi, adding to the magical beauty of the site.

The spring’s water is of high quality used to irrigate crops and trees and feed animals, reflecting its importance to the local ecosystem. The numerous streams that flow through the area enhance its natural charm, making Ain Razat a natural haven.

During khareef, most springs in Dhofar, including Ain Razat, derive their water from the rain that falls on the surrounding mountains, leading to a significant increase in water levels. This natural phenomenon makes Ain Razat an even more attractive destination during the khareef.

Dhofar Municipality’s efforts to develop the site have made it a key tourist attraction in the governorate, ensuring that visitors can enjoy its unique beauty and picturesque nature.
