Muscat – The Ministry of Education (MoE), in conjunction with the Directorate General of Curriculum Development, has unveiled a programme called Educational Tools Caravan under the slogan ‘Innovate and Connect’.
Targeting educators, students and the media, the caravan will visit Muscat, North Batinah and Dakhliyah governorates.
Funding for this caravan programme was sourced from various organisations, including Oman Development and Investment Company (Ominvest), Azzan bin Qais Educational Group and Bank Dhofar, among others.
Dr Yahya al Harithi, Director General of Curriculum Development, who is overseeing the caravan, said, “It is designed to encourage innovation among educational professionals and aims to create inexpensive yet effective learning tools and help educators refine their teaching methods, all in alignment with the goals set in Oman Vision 2040.”
Harithi informed that the caravan will have three stops. The first on December 11 in Muscat will see the participation of schools from Muscat South Batinah for three days. The caravan will then move on to Sohar, where schools from North Batinah and Buraimi will participate. It will wrap up in Nizwa, involving schools from Dakhliyah and Dhahirah.
The initiative is a collaborative effort involving multiple corporate and institutional partners with the aim of encouraging education workers to create innovative yet cost-effective methods and tools. The caravan will also be a mobile exhibition of these tools across educational directorates.
The exhibitions, accompanying the caravan, will have two sections. The first will display a variety of educational aids provided by MoE, including models, materials and images. The second will feature innovations – low-cost educational tools crafted by education workers.
The caravan will also gather feedback and suggestions on developing new educational approaches, while putting the spotlight on potential candidates for ministry-backed development and delegation across Oman’s schools.
It will also engage students in using and testing educational resources and highlight contemporary educational tools.
