Muscat – The Ministry of Social Development (MoSD), represented by the Department of Women’s Affairs, launched a programme called ‘Leadership Empowerment of Women in Decision-Making Positions’ on Tuesday.
The inaugural session of the programme was held at the National Autism Centre in Al Khoud with participation of several influential women leaders.
The programme is designed to equip participants with crucial skills in leadership, communication and decision-making.
Additionally, it intends to empower them with planning and management expertise for media enablers, such as campaigning. It also aims to put the spotlight and share successful stories of women empowerment.
Wadha al Alawi, Director of Department of Women’s Affairs at MoSD, said that Omani women have received considerable attention and respect in the sultanate. “The country has ensured women’s active participation in the national development process, supporting and empowering them in various fields.”
She underscored that Omani women serve as successful models due to their significant role in bolstering the national economy.
At the inaugural programme, Ahmed bin Ali al Mukhaini, policy analysis and development expert, presented a paper titled ‘The Electoral Campaign: Its Components and Stages’ which detailed the formation and building of work teams, organisations, volunteer management, campaign planning and implementation, and budget estimation.
The second session of the programme delved into Oman’s constitutional, legislative and legal framework, exploring tools and strategies for studies, hosting discussions, making proposals and development plans, budgets, and relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks.
