Islamabad – Pakistan has announced the resumption of technical discussions between the United States and Iran scheduled for next week. This initiative is part of a broader mediation effort led by Islamabad to seek an end to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
The spokesperson for the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Tahir Andrabi, confirmed that the talks will resume mid-next week following the signing of a memorandum of understanding last Wednesday. This agreement outlines a framework for negotiations to reach a final settlement within a 60-day period, which is subject to extension. These upcoming discussions follow a series of extensive meetings held in Switzerland last Sunday, which commenced with political delegations before transitioning to specialised technical and professional teams.
