New York – Oman has been elected as a member of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child for the upcoming term spanning from 2027 to 2031. This marks the second consecutive time the Sultanate has secured a seat on the committee.

The election took place during the twenty-first meeting of the States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which was held at the United Nations headquarters in New York.
