President Samia views logistics solutions of Asyad Group

Muscat – President Samia Suluhu Hassan of the United Republic of Tanzania visited Asyad Group’s Fulfillment Centre on Tuesday to get familiarised with the competitive advantages and logistic services provided by the group.

The Tanzanian President was briefed on the services provided by Asyad Group in ports, free zones, shipping, dry dock and its competitive logistic solutions. These solutions include direct lines for container transportation, freight forwarding, cold chain, e-commerce and last mile express delivery services.

The guest was acquainted with the centre’s operations as an ideal model in supporting supply chain activities across various local and global markets.

President Samia was also briefed on the partnership between Asyad Group, represented by Oman Post and Asyad Express, and the Tanzanian Posts Corporation. As per this partnership, the two sides will exchange expertise and knowledge on the latest technologies and innovative solutions in the fields of e-commerce and postal services to implement best practices and experiences between the two countries.

She was also familiarised with a joint postage stamp initiative that documents the historical and cultural ties between Oman and Tanzania.

At the conclusion of her visit, President Samia lauded the efforts exerted by Asyad Group in providing competitive and international logistic services, as well as in solidifying the business and economic relations between the two countries.

The visit underscored the strategic importance of the existing cooperation between Asyad Group and Tanzanian Posts Corporation through logistics operations to create promising opportunities that boost trade exchange between Omani and African markets and link Omani entrepreneurs with the rapidly growing African market. The African market gives access to more than 400mn consumers.

Asyad Group seeks to expand in global markets, including in e-commerce services, especially considering the Tanzanian market is the fourth largest consumer base in the field of e-commerce in the African continent. This expansion will consolidate Oman’s position as a pivotal centre for e-commerce, linking consumers with producers in regional and global markets.
