Muscat – Ministry of Labour (MoL) is actively strengthening the investment environment within the private training sector to enhance training quality, institutional efficiency, and alignment with labour market requirements.

According to Mahfoodha Mubarak Al Araimi, Director General of Private Training Institutions, current sector indicators reveal 62 licensed private training institutions operating across the governorates of Oman, alongside 819 accredited training programmes and 637 accredited administrative and training personnel. Furthermore, the Directorate recorded 150 training visa approvals, 122 institutional visits, 19 classification visits, and 21 students enrolled in the Professional Diploma Programme.

To future-proof the workforce, the Ministry is developing a national roadmap for technical specializations and occupations through 2030, supported by sectoral employment governance committees and targeted investment documents. In addition, the Ministry has organised field meetings starting in Dhofar on May 4, 2026, North Batinah on May 10, 2026, and Buraimi on May 19, 2026, to engage directly with investors. These efforts expand investment opportunities into commercial activities such as digital platform training, educational agencies, and professional testing services, supporting Oman’s transition toward a knowledge- and skills-based economy.
