Muscat – The Consumer Protection Authority (CPA) conducted a field inspection visit to Wadi Al Kabir Market in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation and integration among relevant authorities and the private sector, and to curb the circulation of counterfeit products in the markets. The visit aimed to enhance the protection of consumer rights and raise compliance with approved requirements and standards.
With the support of specialists, the visit included examining a number of products available in the market and verifying their compliance with approved requirements and standards. It also involved reviewing relevant commercial practices and ensuring adherence to the regulations governing the circulation of products. These efforts contribute to enhancing the quality of products offered in the markets and curbing practices that may compromise consumer safety or rights.
The visit also reflects the importance of institutional partnership and integration between government entities and the private sector in supporting national efforts to strengthen market oversight, curb the circulation of counterfeit products, and establish a safe and fair commercial environment based on quality, compliance, and trust, thereby providing greater protection for consumers.
