Muscat- A total of 32,916 applications had been registered for Oman’s Hajj season for 1448 AH as of 8pm on October 4, according to the latest statistics issued by the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs.

The figures show that men account for the majority of applicants, with 16,306 registrations, or 55 %, while women represent 13,192 registrations, or 45 %.

Among Oman’s governorates,  Dakhliyah recorded the highest number of registrations at 5,977, closely followed by Muscat with 5,896. Dhofar ranked third with 3,511 registrations, while North Al Sharqiyah recorded 3,520 and North  Batinah 3,450.

South Al Sharqiyah recorded 2,209 applications, while South Al Batinah registered 2,633. Dhahirah had 1,443 registrations, followed by Buraimi with 385, the Wusta Governorate with 316, and Musandam with 158.

The statistics also recorded 3,418 applications from non-Omani residents, representing approximately 10 per cent of the overall total. Among these applicants, 75 % wereArabs and 25 % were non-Arabs.

With seven days remaining at the time of the update, the registration figures provide an early indication of demand for the upcoming Hajj season and highlight continued participation from citizens and residents across Oman.
