Astana, Kazakhstan – His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik arrived in Astana on Monday on a two-day state visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan led the welcoming party for His Majesty at Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport in the Kazakh capital Astana. The president wished His Majesty and his accompanying delegation a pleasant stay and a successful visit.

His Majesty the Sultan then proceeded to shake hands with the welcoming party from the Kazakh side and members of the sultanate’s embassy in Astana. This was followed by the president shaking hands with the delegation accompanying His Majesty.

Thereafter, His Majesty the Sultan and President Tokayev viewed a parade of the Guard of Honour.

As the plane carrying His Majesty the Sultan entered Kazakh airspace, it was escorted by military aircraft of the Kazakh Air Defense Forces in a warm welcome to His Majesty for his gracious visit to Kazakhstan.

An official reception ceremony will be held for His Majesty the Sultan at the Palace of Independence in Astana to Tuesday.
