NIZWA -The Consumer Protection Department in  Dakhiliyah Governorate has seized 486 non-compliant products during field inspections of commercial establishments in the Wilayats of Manah and Nizwa.

The seized items included expired perfumes and facial cleansers, as well as honey products containing substances prohibited under consumer protection regulations.

Among the products seized were Epimedium honey, packaged in sachets and glass jars, and Bio Honey products, which authorities said could pose risks to consumers’ health and safety.

The products were confiscated and placed in custody, while legal procedures were initiated against the violating establishments in accordance with the Consumer Protection Law and its Executive Regulations.

The inspection campaign is part of the department’s ongoing efforts to monitor commercial markets, ensure the safety and compliance of products offered to consumers and curb practices that could endanger public health.

Consumer protection authorities regularly conduct inspections of shops and commercial outlets to verify product quality, validity and compliance with applicable regulations.

The department stressed the importance of maintaining safe markets and protecting consumers from products that fail to meet required safety standards.
