Salalah – More than 60 women entrepreneurs and artisanal families from across Oman will take part in the Rural Dhofar 2026 exhibition, opening on Monday at Attin Square in Salalah.

Organised by the Dhofar branch of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with Dhofar Governor’s Office and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, the exhibition will run till August 15 as part of Dhofar Khareef 2026 activities.

The event aims to support rural women, boost their economic participation and expand market access for Omani products.

Participants will showcase agricultural, fish and food products, as well as honey, dates and cosmetics made from natural ingredients.

The exhibition is designed to provide direct marketing opportunities, increase income for productive families and support small and medium enterprises.

It will also highlight the role of rural women in food security and sustainable economic development.

A series of workshops will be held alongside the exhibition, focusing on product quality and added value, sustainable production, the ‘Rural Product’ financing programme and women’s contribution to food security.

Organisers said the event will give visitors an opportunity to learn about successful rural enterprises and purchase locally made products while supporting efforts to strengthen rural communities, increase the value of national products and promote economic diversification.
