Samail – Omani Women’s Association (OWA) in Dakhliyah launched an initiative called Barakat Buyoutina on Sunday as part of efforts to support and honour mothers through social and recreational programmes aimed at strengthening community ties and preserving Omani heritage.

Speaking to Muscat Daily, Rabaa Al Jabri, chairperson of the association, said the programme reflects the organisation’s commitment to empowering mothers and creating meaningful social spaces that combine cultural awareness, entertainment and community engagement.

“As part of the programme, we organised a visit to Bait Daghal Café in the orchards of Samail with the participation of 45 mothers. The initiative aims to provide a welcoming environment where women can practise hobbies, exchange experiences and strengthen social connections,” Rabaa said.

She added that Barakat Buyoutina is held every two weeks and serves as a community platform supporting women socially and psychologically, while helping them break daily routines and renew positive energy.

The outing to Bait Daghal Café featured a variety of traditional and creative activities, including handicrafts, arts, cooking and handmade products, allowing participants to showcase their talents and skills in an atmosphere of cooperation and creativity.

Participants also explored traditional crafts and heritage corners at the venue, which reflected the authenticity of Omani culture and the beauty of the local environment. The visit offered mothers an opportunity to reconnect with aspects of Oman’s cultural heritage while enjoying meaningful social interaction in a relaxed setting.

Rabaa noted that the association is keen to diversify its programmes in ways that respond to women’s needs and boost their role in society. She added that its activities are divided across several areas, including handicrafts, theatre, arts and culinary activities, enabling each participant to express her individual identity and creativity.
