Dhofar – Environment Authority (EA) has issued a clarification regarding the pruning of wild trees during the current year, specifically addressing the environmental conditions in Dhofar Governorate. Following the impact of the “Al Massarat” low-pressure system, the region has witnessed significant growth and a flourishing of wild trees as they renew their natural cycles before the upcoming Khareef season. In response to these developments, the Authority has decided not to allow pruning operations for this year, except within very limited areas determined through direct coordination with specialists at the Directorate General of Environment in Dhofar.
This decision is part of a broader effort to maintain the sustainability of vegetation and protect the unique ecosystems within the governorate. The Environment Authority urges all citizens and residents to comply with these regulations and refrain from carrying out any pruning work without prior authorisation or coordination. Adherence to these guidelines is essential to avoid legal accountability and to ensure that the natural beauty and environmental health of the region are preserved for future generations.
