Muscat – Pursuant to Article 50 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Law issued under Royal Decree Number 92/2025, employees with moderate or severe disabilities, as well as designated caregivers, are entitled to a daily working hours reduction of two hours with full salary or wage pay.
Eligible employees include workers with moderate or severe disabilities who present an official disability card issued by the Ministry of Social Development, and primary caregivers who look after an individual with a moderate or severe disability, such as a parent, child, or spouse.
To qualify, caregivers must submit formal documentation proving their kinship, a certified assessment verifying the severity of the disability, and an official document confirming their caregiving responsibilities.
This regulation reinforces workplace inclusion, protects employees’ financial rights, and provides vital support for caregivers within the Sultanate.
