Muscat – Royal Oman Police (ROP) have successfully dismantled an international criminal network involved in human trafficking and drug smuggling.
The operation began when an individual from an African nation was deceived by a false promise of employment in Oman. Upon arrival, the victim was cornered by a criminal syndicate and forced to swallow packages of illicit narcotics intended for illegal transport.
Through advanced surveillance and intelligence tracking, police monitored the syndicate members as they moved through hotels and residential areas. Authorities apprehended multiple suspects involved in the operation, including individuals intercepted at border checkpoints while attempting to flee the country.
This case highlights how criminal networks exploit the ambitions of job seekers, prompting the Royal Oman Police to reinforce their commitment to tracking down trafficking rings and safeguarding national security.
