New Eid clothes distributed to needy families in Muscat, Buraimi

Muscat – A charitable initiative titled ‘New Eid Clothes for Distribution’, led by Muscat-based social worker Syedzada Shaandar Ali Shah Bukhari, was successfully concluded during Ramadhan 2026, marking its fourth consecutive year since its inception in Ramadhan 2023.

The initiative focused on collecting and distributing new and preloved clothes for men, women, and children, along with shoes and accessories, to underprivileged individuals, enabling them to celebrate Eid with dignity and joy.

The event was graced by the Ambassador of Pakistan to Oman, H E Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari, who attended as the Chief Guest. A special prayer for the success and blessings of the initiative was led by Shaikh Abbas Al Sajwani. 

This year as well, the initiative expanded beyond Muscat to the Buraimi Governorate, where a parallel activity was conducted under the leadership of Shah Mohammed Shirani. In Buraimi, approximately 150 labourers received new shoes, along with new clothing for men and women.

The main event was hosted by Syed Tahir Shah at Spice of Sialkot, a fine dining venue in Al Azaiba. The gathering witnessed a strong turnout, with attendees from diverse communities and backgrounds, reflecting unity and inclusivity.

Prominent representatives from different faiths were also present, including Dr Dilip Kumar and Pastor Zeresh Daniel, highlighting the spirit of interfaith harmony. The event was skillfully presented by Azra Aleem, while Aleem Anees captured memorable moments of the evening.

Several distinguished community members attended the charity drive, including Dr Tariq Amin Shaikh, Chaudhary Abbas, Dr Syed Sharif Ataullah, Liaquat Mirza, Syed Aftab Gilani, Mohammad Ali Fazal, Haroon Parvez (Abu Haroon), Amir Raza, Ahmad Subhani, Syed Awais, Sajjad, Sohail Ahmed, Ahmed Raza Qadri, Atif Ali, Waleed Banori, Syed Tabassum Shah, Aqib Gujjar, Kashif Zaeem, and Emran Toor. Special guests included Mahira Al Balushiya, as well as visitors from Italy, Luca and Lucia, and Asma Al Behery from Egypt.

The continued success of this initiative reflects the growing spirit of compassion and community service in Oman, ensuring that the joy of Eid reaches every home.
