Muscat – Foreign Ministry has announced the official commencement of a mutual visa waiver agreement with the Republic of Belarus, set to take effect from March 17. This diplomatic development simplifies travel procedures between the two nations, fostering closer bilateral ties and enhancing mobility for Omani citizens planning to visit Belarus.

Under the new regulations, citizens must ensure their passports remain valid for at least six months from the date of entry. The agreement permits a maximum stay of 30 days per individual visit, with a total cumulative stay not exceeding 90 days within a single calendar year. Any citizen intending to remain in Belarus for longer than the 30-day single-visit threshold must apply for the appropriate visa in accordance with the host country’s prevailing laws.

The Ministry has clarified that the waiver applies strictly to non-remunerative travel. Visitors are prohibited from engaging in employment, commercial business, or any paid activities during their stay. Furthermore, the authorities strongly advise all travellers to obtain comprehensive health insurance covering the entire duration of their visit and to strictly adhere to the local regulations of Belarus.
