21 Jan 2026 Muscat Municipality brings cheer to hospitalised children By OUR CORRESPONDENT

Muscat – As part of its social responsibility and humanitarian efforts to support sick children, Muscat Municipality has organised a series of hospital visits to children’s wards, aiming to bring joy and uplift the psychological and emotional wellbeing of young patients during their treatment.

The initiative included a visit to The Royal Hospital on January 19, covering children’s wards in Wings 2, 3 and 4, in addition to the paediatric cardiology and oncology departments.

This was followed by a visit to Sultan Qaboos University Hospital on January 20, where children’s wards were toured and gifts and balloons distributed to patients.

The programme concluded on January 21 with a visit to Khoula Hospital. The visits featured the participation of Candy Land cartoon characters, who helped create a lively and interactive atmosphere inside the wards, bringing smiles to the faces of children and their families.

The cheerful environment had a positive impact on patients’ morale and psychological wellbeing. The initiative reflects Muscat Municipality’s commitment to promoting values of giving and social solidarity, while strengthening its community presence through humanitarian programmes that support sick children and help create a more positive hospital environment, easing the pressures associated with treatment, it stated.
