Muscat – Sprinter Al Mulham bin Darwish al Balushi struck gold in 60m sprint at the World Athletics Indoor Tour Silver meet in Oskemen, Kazakhstan earlier this week. He clocked 6.63 seconds, finishing ahead of competitors from nine countries.

Coach Mohammed al Hooti commended Balushi’s performance, saying, “This was his debut in the 60m race in an international meet. Balushi’s dedication and rigorous training helped him secure the win.”

Balushi is now preparing for upcoming international championships, aiming to build on this success. His victory adds to Oman’s sporting achievements and reinforces his status as a rising star in the region.

He said. “I am incredibly grateful for this moment and to everyone who supported me. Winning gold in Kazakhstan is a dream come true, and it wouldn’t have been possible without hard work, discipline and dedication. Every race is a lesson and each one pushes me further to improve and break new barriers.”

He dedicated his win to his family, coach and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth.
