Muscat – King Hamad bin Issa al Khalifa of the Kingdom of Bahrain visited the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) on Wednesday as part of the programme of his state visit to the Sultanate of Oman.

King Hamad toured ROHM and listened to a briefing about its facilities, the nature of its performances, its seasons and its programme throughout the year.

He took note of the fact that ROHM boasts the latest equipment used in the field of international musical shows.

During his tour, King Hamad was briefed about the architectural features of ROHM’s design, which highlights the Omani architectural heritage, with a blend of architecture representing different continents of the world.

On the occasion, ROHM presented a musical performance staged by the Jazz Band of the Royal Guard of Oman (RGO) and RGO’s Second Battalion’s bagpipes and drums troupe.

At the end of his visit, King Hamad signed the Visitors Book, expressing his delight at visiting the ROHM, which he described as a true embodiment of Oman’s art and culture and a symbol of the advanced Omani identity that is rich in culture and innovation.

King Hamad stressed that culture and arts constitute a bridge that links generations and promotes human values and understanding among people who belong to different cultures.

During the visit, King Hamad was accompanied by H E Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al Busaidi, Minister of Interior (Head of the Mission of Honour), members of the Board of Directors of the Royal Opera House Muscat and the official delegation accompanying the King.
