Muscat – The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has reopened its embassy in Muscat, the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Tuesday.
‘It is hereby to inform that, as of Sunday, September 15, the IEA Embassy has officially resumed its routine operations and consular services for both Afghan and Omani citizens,’ it said.
With the cooperation of the host nation, the resumption of the embassy’s operations will play a pivotal role in strengthening bilateral relations between Kabul and Muscat, facilitating enhanced political, economic, social, and religious engagement. ‘The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan expresses its gratitude to the Foreign Ministry of the Sultanate of Oman for its cooperation in this regard.’
Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, Deputy Spokesman and Assistant Director of Public Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of IEA, confirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate is overseeing the embassy’s operations in Muscat.
