ISC MKW claim Cricket4Her OC Women’s Summer League title

Muscat – ISC MKW defeated OCA Women’s A by six wickets in the final of the Oman Cricket Women’s Summer League 2024.

ISC MKW dominated both OC Women’s League Season and the OC Women’s Summer League with 11 consecutive wins and it was no different in the final.

OCA Women’s A, opting to bat first, were bundled out for 85 in 17.1 overs. Sameera Khan made 34 off 29 balls while Hina Javed scored 26 off 28. Amanda D’Costa picked up four wickets while Pratima B took two. Priyanka Mendonca and Merita Pinto were also among the wickets.

In response, Trupti Pawde gave ISC a fine start scoring 24 off 33 balls and Priyanka Mendonca made 35 off 28 as they chased down the target with six wickets in hand and 26 balls to spare.

Fiza Javed, Hina Javed and Sameera Khan picked up a wicket each.

Oman Cricket witnessed the participation of eight teams in the league this season in continuation to its Cricket4Her – Women’s Cricket Development Programme. The teams were divided into two groups with ISC MKW topping Group A winning all three matches while OCA Women’s topped Group B.

ISWK Women’s and OCA Women’s C were the other teams qualified for the semifinals.

In the closing ceremony, Paul Sheridan – Vice Chairman and Women’s Cricket Committee Member, Oman Cricket, presented the awards. The player of the match for the final was handed to ISC MKW’s Priyanka Mendonsa for her all-round performance.

The league accolades adjudged were – Best Batter : Fiza Javed of OCA Women’s A (279 runs in 5 innings with 2 hundreds and 1 fifty), Best Bowler : Amanda Dcosta (13 wickets in 5 matches) and the Player of the Tournament was Fiza Javed for displaying exemplary performance with the bat throughout the League.

Brief scores: OCA Women’s A 85 in 17.1 overs (Sameera Khan 34(29); Amanda Dcosta 4/14) lost to ISC MKW 86/4 in 15.4 overs (Priyanka Mendonca 35(28); Fiza Javed 1 for 10) by 6 wickets.
